Telus Picks Former Bank Chief Dodig to Replace Longtime CEO

Telus Corp. announced a surprising succession, marking the end of Chief Executive Officer Darren Entwistle’s 26-year tenure and tapping recently retired bank chief Victor Dodig to take over as the company faces investor pressure over its slow growth.

Dodig, 60, who’s been an independent director on the company’s board since 2022 and retired as CEO of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce last year, will take the helm on July 1, according to a company statement on Thursday.
