Cargill to Close Milwaukee Beef Facility Cutting 221 Jobs
Cargill Inc. is permanently closing a plant that produces ground beef in Milwaukee, joining other meatpackers who have pulled back amid a severe cattle shortage.
Cargill, one of the world’s largest beef producers, said in a notice that it would begin winding down operations at the plant soon, with a full closing around the end of May. The closure will result in the elimination of 221 jobs.
