Brazil’s Justice Toffoli Steps Down From Banco Master Case

Brazil Supreme Court Justice Dias Toffoli will no longer oversee a financial fraud probe into Banco Master SA after a Federal Police report raised questions about his links to the troubled bank and its chief executive.

Toffoli agreed to relinquish control of the investigation Thursday after hours of meetings with fellow justices about the police report, according to a statement signed by court members. The court chose justice Andre Mendonca as the new rapporteur of the probe late on Thursday.
