T-Mobile Adds Fewer Subscribers, Increases Buybacks
T-Mobile US Inc. reported it added fewer mobile-phone subscribers than analysts expected in the fourth quarter, highlighting the challenge ahead for new Chief Executive Officer Srini Gopalan.
The Bellevue, Washington-based company added 962,000 new wireless subscribers in the period, compared with estimates for 992,000. The additions come on the heels of 1 million new mobile customers in the third quarter and are more than what rivals AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. added in the period.
