AGL Jumps Most on Record After Earnings Beat Estimates

AGL Energy Ltd. shares advanced the most on record after reporting half-year earnings that analysts said beat estimates.

Shares in Australia’s top electricity generator jumped 12% in Sydney on Wednesday, the biggest one-day gain since they started trading in 2006. Revenue slipped 0.9% from a year earlier, while underlying profit after tax fell 6.4% in the six months through December, as higher fleet availability and strong battery performance helped offset lower market volatility, the company said.
