Uranium Company Increases Output to Meet Nuclear Power Demand

Solstice Advanced Materials Inc., which was spun off last year from Honeywell International Inc., plans to increase output of a key material for nuclear power amid swelling demand for clean energy from reactors.

The specialty chemical maker expects to produce more than 10,000 tons of uranium hexafluoride this year at its facility in Metropolis, Illinois, up from over 9,000 tons in 2025. Uranium hexafluoride is a critical component needed to produce fuel for nuclear power plants.
