Shooting Heard in Guinea Capital of Conakry, Agencies Report

Sustained gunshots were heard on Tuesday in the Guinean capital, Conakry, according to news agencies.

It wasn’t immediately clear who was shooting, according to a Reuters witness, who reported seeing several military pickup trucks carrying armed security forces and a machinegun-mounted armored vehicle deployed around the West African city’s central administrative district.
