An individual who the authorities described as a person of interest has been taken into custody regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie in Arizona more than a week ago, a person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday night.

The case, which has attracted international attention, took a dramatic turn earlier Tuesday when the Federal Bureau of Investigation released photo and video images of the possible suspect outside Guthrie’s home near Tucson.
