Coupang Limited Korean Probe of Data Breach, Ministry Says

Coupang failed to comply with orders to preserve information during a Korean government probe into a breach of data on nearly 34 million shoppers, limiting a post-mortem into an incident that’s raised fresh trade tensions between Seoul and Washington.

Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said in a statement on Tuesday that Coupang didn’t adjust its automatic-retention policies, despite the ministry order, leading to the deletion of access logs that were pertinent to its investigation.
