Boeing Mapping Plans To Hike 737 Jet Production to Record Rate

Boeing Co. is in growth mode as it maps out plans to hike output of its cashcow 737 aircraft family to a 63-jet monthly pace over several years, an executive told a conference north of Seattle.

The planemaker has installed tooling to support a new 737 final assembly line in a traditional widebody plant, and is hiring mechanics and engineers as it prepares to start up manufacturing by mid-year, Katie Ringgold, who heads Boeing’s 737 program, told the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance conference on Tuesday.
