Nvidia-Backed AI Startup Gets $10 Billion in Blackstone-Led Loan
Australian AI startup Firmus Technologies Pty. secured a $10 billion loan from a group including Blackstone Inc.-led funds to boost its data center rollout in one of the country’s largest private credit financings.
The funding, which also came from tech investment firm Coatue Capital LLC, will pay for the next phase of Firmus’ data center expansion and will be boosted by Nvidia Corp.’s chips, according to a company announcement on Monday. The AI infrastructure firm plans to construct data centers with a combined capacity of up to 1.6 gigawatts across Australia by 2028.
