Food Trucks Held at Vietnam Border After Last-Minute Rule Change
Long lines of produce delivery trucks have been backed up at Vietnam’s borders after the government rushed out new food safety rules, prompting the prime minister to order urgent action ahead of the Lunar New Year, when families traditionally stock up on supplies.
Officials were instructed to “to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles in the inspection of food and imported/exported goods,” and prevent further congestion, according to a statement posted on a government website Wednesday.
