Haddad Says He Pitched Lula on Picks for Central Bank Seats
Brazil Finance Minister Fernando Haddad pitched two economists for open seats on the central bank board, but said President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hasn’t yet made a decision on the nominees.
Haddad proposed Guilherme Mello, currently the Finance Ministry’s secretary for economic policy, and Tiago Cavalcanti, an economics professor at the University of Cambridge, to Lula late last year, he said in a Tuesday morning radio interview.
