Foreign Buyers Scoop Up US Credit at Fastest Pace in Three Years

Foreign investors bought American corporate bonds at the fastest monthly pace in nearly three years in January, as stable yields and lower hedging costs boosted the appeal of US credit, JPMorgan Chase & Co. data show.

Buying slowed in the final week of the month, when overnight net inflows averaged $240 million, down 59% from the prior week, JPMorgan strategists including Nathaniel Rosenbaum and Silvi Mantri wrote in a report. Still, January net buying averaged $332 million per night, the highest since February 2023.
