French Health Startup Alan in Funding Talks at €5 Billion Value

Alan is in talks to raise funds at a €5 billion ($5.9 billion) valuation as the French health-insurance startup works to expand its customer base, people familiar with the matter said.

The company, which said it’s the first independent health insurer to get a new license in France in three decades, wants to raise more than €100 million, though the exact amount hasn’t been finalized, the people said, asking not to be identified because the process is private.
