Economic growth in the Czech Republic accelerated last year, driven mainly by domestic demand as households increased spending fueled by rising incomes.

Gross domestic product in 2025 rose 2.5%, almost doubling the pace from 1.3% expansion in the previous year, according to a flash estimate published by the Prague-based statistics office on Friday. The economy expanded 2.4% in the last quarter from a year earlier, and rose 0.5% on the previous three months.
