England’s Leasehold Ground Rents to Be Capped at £250-a-Year

Ground rents are paid on leasehold properties built before 2022.

The government will cap ground rents paid by leaseholders in England and Wales despite concern about the impact on pension funds.

The cap would be £250 ($342) a year, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced Tuesday morning, subject to legislation.
