Ryanair Holdings Plc said it will consider installing in-flight Wi-Fi across its fleet only once costs drop and the product makes sense for budget-minded passengers on short hops across Europe.

Installing Starlink would require Ryanair to fit aircraft with an antenna that would create a 2% fuel drag, increasing costs for the budget airline, Ryanair Chief Financial Officer Neil Sorahan said on Monday. That, coupled with passengers not wanting to pay for Internet on flights that average two hours, means Ryanair isn’t prepared to equip its jets with Wi-Fi yet, he added.
