Ex-JPMorgan Chief Economist Joins Wealth Firm Alta Vera as CIO

Michael Vaknin, the former chief economist of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s private bank, was hired by Alta Vera Global Capital Advisors as chief investment officer where he’ll help build a platform to advise wealthy families.

Vaknin, who also spent a decade at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., joins former colleague Jerry Garcia, the Miami-based co-founder and chief executive officer at Alta Vera, which launched in the second half of 2025. Vaknin will remain in New York.
