Bangladesh Quits Cricket T20 World Cup in India as Tensions Rise

Bangladesh will skip the T-20 Cricket World Cup in India starting next month, its interim government said, in the latest sign of escalating tensions between the South Asian neighbors.

“There is no scope to change our decision,” Bangladesh’s Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul said Thursday, saying the move was driven by unresolved security conditions and “specific threats” against Bangladeshi players.
