Canada will increase its presence in the Arctic, according to Foreign Minister Anita Anand, as US President Donald Trump has triggered turmoil in the region by threatening to annex Greenland.

Canada will open a consulate in the semi-autonomous Danish territory next month, a move that had been in the works before the current situation, Anand said in an interview with Bloomberg on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
