Kosovo Commission Orders Full Recount of December Elections

Kosovo’s election commission on Monday ordered a full recount of votes from last month’s snap elections after discrepancies were found in results for individual candidates in some municipalities.

The overall election result is expected to stay unchanged, Kreshnik Radoniqi, the chairman of Kosovo’s Central Election Commission, told reporters in Pristina. It may take weeks for the final official result to be confirmed. Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s party won the Dec. 28 ballot, securing enough seats to govern alone in Kosovo’s 120-seat parliament.
