The Czech Republic’s billionaire prime minister has cemented control over the government three months after his election victory amid signs he may be softening the impact of his far-right-backed administration.

Andrej Babis, who forged a coalition with the ultranationalist Freedom and Direct Democracy party and the climate-skeptic Motorists, secured his majority in a vote of confidence in Prague late on Thursday.
