Nigeria is seeking backers for a 1.5 trillion naira ($1 billion) green bond it aims to issue this year.

Environment Minister Balarabe Abbas Lawal said the West African nation is working with the International Finance Corp., the private-sector arm of the World Bank, to help unlock private capital and relieve strain on public finances.
