Trump Administration to End Somali Temporary Status in March

The Trump administration is ending temporary protected status for Somalis effective March 17, expanding its effort to drive migrants out of the US.

The move would affect “thousands” of people, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt postedBloomberg Terminal on X. That includes many in Minnesota, which is home to a large Somali community and where the administration has accelerated its immigration crackdown in recent weeks, though much of that group are permanent residents or citizens.
