UniCredit Positions Itself to Boost Alpha Bank Stake to 32.1%

UniCredit holds an extra 2.3% of Alpha Bank through various financial instruments, a move that will enable it to boost its total stake in the Greek lender to around 32.1%.

An option for a 0.3% holding expires in the middle of January while total return swaps representing 1.6% of the voting rights expire around the end of the quarter, according to an Alpha Bank statement Friday. The final instrument’s conversion period runs until June 18.
