Latvia Says Suspected Ship Likely Not Linked to Cable Damage

Latvian authorities said a ship boarded by police on Sunday was likely not responsible for damage to an undersea telecommunication cable, as initially suspectedBloomberg Terminal.

Following an inspection of the vessel in the port city of Liepaja, including its anchor and technical equipment, and questioning of crew members, a criminal case “does not indicate the connection” of the ship with the optic link, Latvian police said in a statement.
