Turkey Rounds Up Islamic State Suspects After Deadly Clashes

Turkey detained hundreds of suspected Islamic State members amid fears they were plotting attacks on New Year’s celebrations, following a deadly clash with the militant group.

Security forces rounded up 357 people in simultaneous raids across the country, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in a post on X. The chief prosecutor in Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, said 41 of those detained were suspected of planning an attack on new year celebrations.
