Israeli Is Charged with Spying for Iran Near Former PM’s Home

Photographer: Jack Guez/AFP/Getty ImagesA 40-year-old Israeli citizen is due to be indicted on Thursday for spying for Iran, including near the home of Naftali Bennett, a former prime minister who is a top contender to wrest the position from Benjamin Netanyahu in elections due in 2026.
The man, Vadim Kupriyanov, was arrested this month for taking photos near Bennett’s home, according to a statement from the Shin Bet internal security agency and national police. He also carried out other missions at the direction of Iranian intelligence in exchange for various sums of money, according to the statement.
