Truemed, Health Firm Started by MAHA Leader, Raises Funds

Truemed, a wellness company, closed a $34 million Series A fund-raising round led by Andreessen Horowitz, Chief Executive Officer Justin Mares told Bloomberg Television.

The company, which helps people use tax-advantaged health savings accounts for wellness products like exercise equipment, saunas and supplements, isn’t profitable yet, said Mares, who co-founded the company with Calley Means, a top adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Means is a key figure Kennedy’s Make America Healthy Again movement, which is focused on reducing chronic disease through food and nutrition.
