ECB Can Keep Rates on Hold If Outlook Materializes, Wunsch Says

The European Central Bank can leave borrowing costs untouched for some time if the predictions in its latest outlook pan out, according to Governing Council member Pierre Wunsch.

Reiterating that monetary policy is “in a good place,” the Belgian central-bank chief cited stronger economic expansion, as well as a smaller-than-anticipated effect on inflation from the euro’s rally and the arrival of cheap Chinese imports.
