Tanzania’s main opposition party has called for the annulment of October’s presidential vote and the formation of a transitional government to oversee constitutional reforms and fresh elections.

Chadema’s deputy leader John Heche on Thursday demanded the dissolution of the electoral commission that declared President Samia Suluhu Hassan the winner of the Oct. 29 vote with nearly 98% of ballots cast.
