Pakistan Convicts Its Powerful Former-Spy Chief for Power Abuse

The Field General Court Martial handed a 14-year prison sentence to the powerful former chief of the Inter Services Intelligence, or ISI, after finding him guilty of charges including violating state secrecy and abuse of power, according to a statement by the military’s Inter Services Public Relations, the media agency. Hameed, who was arrested more than a year ago when the trial began, can challenge the verdict.
