Vietnam’s US Exports Jump, Surplus Rises Despite Tariffs

Vietnam’s exports to the US climbed to a new high, driving the trade surplus above last year’s level, even as negotiators push to finalize a tariff deal meant to rein in the gap.

The Southeast Asian nation, which ships everything from footwear to furniture to America, reported a trade surplus with the US of $121.6 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, up 27.5% from a year earlier, according to data released by the National Statistics Office in Hanoi Saturday.
