But, because of their price points, watches are a significant commitment, which means buying them for others can cause a lot of anxiety. I hear from plenty of people who want to do it but are afraid they’ll make the wrong choice. My usual advice is to go to a multibrand emporium with the giftee and to make the choice together. Choosing one can be a lovely way to build a memory: The shops always make a special occasion out of it, with champagne and a nice box, and they’ll size the watch bracelet for you on the spot and even arrange for engraving if you like.
