BMW, Mercedes Cars Are Cut From UK Disability Support Program
Mercedes-Benz Group AG and BMW AG luxury cars will no longer be eligible for a program intended to help disabled Britons lease new cars, following a backlash over taxpayers subsidizing high-end vehicle purchases.
The changes announced by Motability Operations Group Plc come just ahead of the UK’s highly anticipated budget release. It’s unclear whether removing premium-brand vehicles from the program will affect efforts to shore up the government’s finances.
