Airbus Manages to Pry Flydubai From Boeing With Major Order
Airbus SE secured an order for 150 A321neo aircraft from Flydubai, gaining a new customer for its most popular jet and dealing a blow to Boeing Co., which had so far been the sole airframe maker of choice for the Middle East carrier.
The memorandum of understanding was announced at the Dubai Air Show on Tuesday. It’s the first major contract win for Airbus at the expo, which has been dominated by Boeing’s award of an order from Flydubai sister carrier Emirates on Monday for 65 777X widebody jets.
