UK Wins Crucial Lawsuit Over Housing Asylum Seekers in Hotel

The UK government won a key challenge against its use of hotels to house asylum seekers in a ruling that’s an effective backing of the Labour Party’s immigration policy.

A London judge rejected a request by Epping Forest District Council, northeast of London, to ban the hotel from housing asylum seekers after they arrived on small boats via the English Channel. The council sued the hotel after an an asylum seeker at the hotel was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
