Iraq is offering preferential terms to draw US oil companies to develop its energy assets, the country’s prime minister said in an interview.

“The government has offered preferential measures to US companies by making direct negotiations without making them go to bidding,” Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani said on Friday in Baghdad. Iraq is currently OPEC’s second-biggest producer.
