Botswana, Angola ‘Perfectly Aligned’ in Race for De Beers Stake

Botswana and Angola played down the prospect of a fight over De Beers, after both previously said they would seek a majority equity share in the iconic diamond miner.

The minerals ministers of Africa’s top two diamond producers met in Gaborone on Friday and told Bloomberg that they had agreed on the principles of a partnership.
