Steve Cohen’s Point72 Triples Lionsgate Stake to 5.1%

Billionaire Steve Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management tripled its investment in Lionsgate Studios Corp., reporting a 5.1% stake in the independent film and TV producer.

Point72 reported holding 14.7 million shares of Lionsgate, the company behind The Hunger Games movies, according to a regulatory filing Monday. It previously owned 4.58 million shares as of June 30, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. At Monday’s closing price the stake was valued at about $94 million, a fraction of Point72’s $41.5 billion assets under management.
