Reeves Hires New Economic Advisers Ahead of UK’s Autumn Budget

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves hired the Resolution Foundation’s Emily Fry and the Institute for Fiscal Studies’ David Sturrock to her council of economic advisers, as she seeks to bolster her operation ahead of a difficult UK budget.

The two officials joined Reeves’ team earlier this month, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be named ahead of any formal announcement. Fry was for three years an economist at the influential left-leaning think tank and Sturrock worked at the Treasury before the IFS.
