Europe Car Sales Jump on Growing Offering of Cheaper EVs
European car sales rose for a third consecutive month in September, as consumers were able to choose from a greater number of affordable electrified models.
New-vehicle registrations increased 11% from a weak year-earlier performance to 1.24 million units, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association said Tuesday. Deliveries climbed in each of the region’s five biggest markets, with the UK and Germany posting gains of 14% and 13%, respectively.
