Saudi Arabia is expanding its influence in tennis by funding a new top-tier men’s tournament.

The event is set to debut on the ATP Tour as early as 2028, according to an announcement Thursday. It will be the 10th Masters 1000 tournament — a more prestigious competition — on the schedule and the first added since 1990.
