England’s drug pricing regulator recommended GSK Plc’s HIV prevention injection, making it the first long-acting pre-exposure treatment for use within the National Health Service.

The shot, known as cabotegravir, is administered once every two months by healthcare professionals in specialist sexual health clinics, offering an alternative to daily pills.
