Republican to Pressure Trump to Reverse Some Treasury Job Cuts

A top Senate Republican will push President Donald Trump to reverse firings at the Treasury Department that targeted the staff overseeing a fund for financial services in economically disadvantaged communities.

Senate Finance Chairman Mike Crapo, in a rare break with Trump, is circulating a letter among his Senate colleagues urging the administration reverse roughly 80 staff cuts to Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, a person familiar with the matter said.
