Billionaire Bill Ackman Donates $1 Million to Anti-Mamdani PAC

Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman gave $1 million Tuesday to a super PAC opposing Zohran Mamdani’s New York City mayoral campaign, state campaign finance records show.

The donation to Defend NYC is the latest major cash infusion ahead of the Nov. 4 election, when Democratic nominee Mamdani will face off against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa. Mamdani has a double-digit lead in the polls, although his margin has narrowed since Mayor Eric Adams announced his decision to drop out late last month.
