French Premier Offers to Suspend Pension Law to Avoid Ouster

French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu proposed suspending a law to raise the retirement age in a bid to bring political stability to the country.

“I will propose to parliament that we suspend the 2023 pension reform until after the presidential election,” he said. “There will be no increase in the retirement age between now and January 2028.”
