ECB’s Next Move More Likely to Be Cut Than Hike, Villeroy Says

The European Central Bank is more likely to lower interest rates than raise them as its next move, according to Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau.

That reflects a greater number of downside dangers to the inflation outlook, the French central-bank chief told Bloomberg Television on Tuesday. For now, monetary policy is in a good place but the situation can change, he said.
