Netanyahu Declines Egypt Peace Summit Invite After Reports He’d Go

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined US President Donald Trump’s invite to attend a Gaza ceasefire ceremony in Egypt on Monday, citing time constraints ahead of the start of a public holiday.

“The Prime Minister thanked President Trump for his efforts to expand the circle of peace, peace through strength,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement. The Egyptian presidency had said in an earlier statement that the Israeli leader would attend the event.
